MACAU 澳门

After months of hard work, we decided to go for a vacation, to re-charge ourselves in order to have better energy ahead. 🙂

So, next question will be when and where to go.  Since Yee can’t take long leave, why not we just go near by country with cool weather around 18 degree. After compare the air fare, we got a Great Deal from Jetstar for Macau.  Yeah… Macau, we are coming.

Ruins of St. Paul’s

The Hotel room in Macau is expensive compare with the room we took in Hong Kong, Bali, Bangkok and Pattaya, is cost about S$150 per night.  Actually, we choose Casa Real Hotel (with small Casino), only 8mins walk from the Ferry Terminal and 8mins walk to Sand Hotel 金沙酒店娱乐城, very convenience.

Sotong loh, after confirm and pay everything then realized I have booked another Hotel — Grand View Hotel 澳门君怡酒店 located at Taipa Island 氹仔 (near Macau International Airport), its just across the street from the famous Macau Jockey Club and walking distance from the restaurants and sites of Old Taipa Village.  Oh my goodness.  If cancel, I need to pay S$15 for administration fee.  Aiyah, forget it la, save $$ more important lah. :p

Senoda Square

We took 10pm flight, arrived Macau International Airport at 1.45am.  Small Airport, very quiet at this hour.  The Airport Customer Service very friendly, given us a Macau Map and told us that we can take a cab to Hotel, cab fare is less than MOP50.  The taxi driver asked for MOP50, ok lor, since already mid night, although I knew the Hotel is nearby only.  It’s took less than 10mins to the Hotel.  Actually, the Taxi here is run by meter.

The hotel room is big and nice. We like to super big bed, the width is about combination of 2 queen size bed, very cool right?

🙂

DAY 1

We woke up at 10am due to late arrival ma.  We walked around the hotel to find our breakfast. The street is clean, not much people, may be there was Saturday.  We found a Roasted Shop, their roasted pork rice set (with vegetable and coffee) 烧肉饭 very delicious, only cost MOP35.  Not enough oh, then we ordered another plate, this round without rice, only roasted pork cost MOP40.  The boss very good, knows we are tourists, give us a big plate, yummy. :p

After Breakfast, we walked back to Hotel Lobby to wait for Hotel free shutter bus to Macau Ferry Terminal, the next bus leaving in 10 mins time.  Or we can take public transport, fare is MOP6.  Of course we choose free shuttle bus lah. :p

There are 32 Casinos in Macau as at 01 March 2011 and understand from the taxi driver, Galaxy Macau grand opening will be in May 2011, after all, there will have 33 Casinos in Macau oh, wow amazing number.

I told Yee that today itinerary is to visit as many Casinos as we can.  What he need to do is, just walk around at the entrance of the Ferry Terminal, look at Those Casinos’ Welcome Team, pick any pretty girl he likes and just follow her to their hotel free shutter bus will do. (*_*)

MGM Hotel – Beautiful Indoor Lobby Garden

The first Casino we visited was MGM Hotel 米高梅酒店娱乐城 Wow, we love their Indoor Lobby Garden, is so nice with different kind of beautiful flowers.  We spent about 2 hours there then proceed to Sand Hotel Casino.

Sand Hotel Casino  金沙酒店娱乐城 is very big and crowded.  Yee don’t like the atmosphere there, so we just have our late lunch in their restaurant, Wanton Mee MO45 & Century Pork Porridge MOP40, taste is ok, nothing special.

Sand Hotel Casino

Then, we take their free shuttle bus to The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel 威尼斯人度假村酒店.  We spent about an hour there then go back to hotel, off course took their free shuttle bus service lah. :p

The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel

The Grand Canal Shoppes with 330 stores for you to shop in Venetian, shop until you drop. :p The sky is always blue.  Casino is largest in the world.

We found a restaurant near our hotel, cheap and delicious, we spent less than MOP100 for 3 dishes, fish, vegetable and fried egg. We noticed that their customers majority are local people. Through the way they talked, we guess they are taxi driver.

Our friends who having their honeymoon in Hong Kong called up say they will meet us on next morning at Macau Ferry Terminal.  We decided to join the Local Land Tour.

🙂

DAY 2

We woke up slightly late.  After a simple breakfast, we took a taxi (by meter) to Ferry Terminal to meet our friends, the journey is about 20 mins and we paid MOP50.  We managed to get a half day local tour from the Tour Agency in the Ferry Terminal Building.  They charge MOP138 per person, it’s included of MOP20 for tips and the ticket for Macau Tourist Tower 旅游塔 (333M) cost MOP120.  Cheap. :p

The Land Tour covered Lotus flower in Full Bloom Square 盛世蓮花廣場, Ruins of St. Paul’s 大三巴牌坊, Mount Fortress 大炮台, Senado Square 議事亭前地, St. Dominic’s Church 玫瑰堂, A-Ma Temple 妈阁庙Kum Iam Statue 观音像, Macau Tower 旅游塔Macau Fisherman’s Wharf 渔人码头 and Taipa House Museum 龍環葡韻住宅式博物館

We all like the Macau Tower 旅游塔 very much, have beautiful 360º Macau view.  According to Tour Guide, Macau very small, 3 Islands joint together, from East to West is 2KM, from North to South is 4KM.  The local half day tour was great.  With the introduction by the Tour Guide, Mr. Xie, now we know Macau better.

Macau Tower. Owned by Stanley Ho.

Macau Tower offer Bungy Jump 苯猪跳 package and Sky Jump package, each package cost about MOP2,488.  Our Tour Guide said, “you give me MOP100K, I also not dare to jump.  Those guy jump down must be crazy already” haha..

DAY 3

We walked from the hotel to Old Taipa Village 地堡街, the journey is about 10mins, a lot of souvenir shops and Restaurants there.  我们从街头走到街尾, we pass by North King Temple 北帝庙, then Museum Of Taipa And Coloane History氹仔历史馆.  We wanted to go in but too bad they closed on Monday, so just a took photo outside lor, so disappointed.

Museum Of Taipa And Coloane History 氹仔历史馆

We just realized that House Museum 龍環葡韻住宅式博物館 is walking distance from Panda Portuguese Restaurant 熊貓葡國餐廳 oh.  Nice Museum, I think, if they use 5 different colors to paint the 5 Museums, will be more like fairy-tale world 童话世界。

Walk straight is Panda Portuguese Restaurant 熊貓葡國餐廳, the foods here are very nice oh.  We just have our breakfast so can’t order much.  The scallop abalone soup is delicious (must try), grilled eel very nice too.  As what people commented about the restaurant, the staff not so friendly, but the boss is good.

We asked the boss for direction on where to take public transport to Black Beach 黑沙海灘.  End up, we went to wrong direction, lucky I’ve asked the bus driver before paying the fare, haha…

Black Sand Beach 黑沙海滩

The bus was crowded, it’s told about 30mins to the destination.  Black Beach 黑沙海滩 is special, the sand not that dark.  We spent about 15 minutes there, took some nice photo. Very quiet in Monday afternoon.

🙂

We visited Ponte 16 Hotel, Yee likes the Michael Jackson Gallery corner very much (Open: 11.00am – 9.00pm daily).  The premiere attraction of the precinct exhibits 40 over memorabilia of MJ including autographed posters, disc awards and stage costumes.

MJ Gallery at Ponte 16 Hotel

Hoffman Ma, bought the pop-music treasure on behalf of the Ponte 16 Resort Hotel in Macau paid USD420K for the glove Michael Jackson wore on his left hand for his moonwalk on Motown’s 25th anniversary television special.

🙂

After that we walked to Grand Lisboa.  We have passed by Senado Square.  It’s give me totally different feeling between day and night-time.  It was busy and crowded in the day time, but night-time is so cooling, people are just walk around and chit-chat.  We enjoyed the night view then continued to walk to Grand Lisboa 新葡京酒店娱乐城.

We don’t like Grand Lisboa, their service is lousy, real China-man business mentality.  We need to claim their shutter bus ticket either through changing of token at the counter or during playing slot machine time.  End up, we walked to Wynne Casino 永利娱乐城, see see look look then took their free shuttle bus to ferry terminal, haha… To save $$…

Wynn, Grand Lisboa, Lisboa & MGM are neighbour

🙂

With total 32 Casinos in Macau, we have only covered 8 Casinos which are Venetians, Sand, Ponte 16, MGM, Wynne, Lisboa, Grand Lisboa and Grand View.  We like MGM the most, in term of the beautiful Lobby Garden and services, free mineral water is readily available & etc.

We didn’t go all these places, 晃記 for 雞仔餅, 大利來記咖啡室, 典當業展示館, 黃枝記 and 松山燈塔, due to no time ma.  But we have bought some 雞仔餅 from the bakery shop near our hotel, very nice too.

We have a nice and relax trip in Macau. We thanks Michelle for the information, without all these valuable information, we can’t go far, may be just casinos, haha…
