Hi CC, one more question. For the first and last day stay in Taipei, did you book your own hotel or everything is done through guide? Which is cheaper? – Mr. Teo

    • June 22, 2014 at 12:41 PM

We stay at Wing Hotel, we book online n call to confirm, pyt upon check in, indicate u want heart shape bathtub. U also can ask Xiao Cun to book for u. Price is same either u book or Xiao Cun. Advantage is he may know the hotel condition better.
If u r interested, u can ask him to arrange for handmade activity eg body painting act, 做陶器 n etc. he will recommend u.
      U r welcome post question.🙂
Wish u hv a fantastic holiday in Taiwan.

    June 25, 2014 at 10:36 PM

We use your itinerary to get quote from a driver recommended by friend. He recommend we made adjustment to the itinerary because he said most of the time, passengers will see only mountains and not other scenery .His recommendation is to travel in a counter clockwise direction the places .Taipei -Taichung -Qingjing-Hualian-Yilan -Taipei. Just want to check if you encounter such situation he mentioned ?

    • July 31, 2014 at 3:03 PM

      Sorry for the late reply.
Actually, we are travel in clockwise direction, from Taipei – Taichung – QingJing – Hualien – Yilan – Taipei. According to Xiao Cun, if we travel from Hualien to QingJing, we will have less Mountain sickness, due to the road structure.
If I’m not wrong, the driver in Taiwan is work 8 hour per day, from 9am to 5pm. You wouldn’t be able to complete our itinerary in 8 hours daily.🙂 Actually, few of my colleagues having same experience as you. After interview them, finally we choose Xiao Cun, and he is perfect choice for us.

Need more on your advise and info from you, so you actually contact the person and told them where you plan to go and your accommodation? Then he will follow and bring us around base on his plan through out the whole of my Taiwan trip?

Will be good if I can give you a call to get more info before I contact the person.
        Thank you.

      • January 21, 2015 at 11:30 AM

Itinerary – You can hv your own itinerary or ask for his help to plan. Both party agreed and confirmed the itinerary before the trip.
Hotel – He will recommend the hotel and book on your behalf. You have to pay directly to the hotel when check-in. Or you can book online on your selection or his recommendation.
Hope I have answer your questions. Should I charge your consultation fee?? Haha..

FYI, Some of my colleagues engaged poor services included straight driving hour (9am to 5pm), show black face if u rejected to go to the appointed shop to buy things, convinced them to change itinerary & etc.

    Hi Mr Yee,
I am planning a f&e tour for nine days inTaiwan with my mother, sister and 2 friends. It’s my first time to Taiwan and am very excited and inexperienced. I am so lucky to see your blog and like your itinerary so much that I followed everything. I also contacted the driver that u recommended, he knows it’s your itinerary and said its ah yee’s itinerary. He asked me to book hotel first but since this is my first time there I don’t know to go which hotel. Can u pls introduce the hotels or homestays (moderate price) to me, Jiufen, Hua Lien, Qing Jing, Taichung and Taipei. As for the driver, what is the price and does he fetch us throughout the itinerary. Do we pay food/lodging for him too? Looking forward to recd your reply. Once again thanks a lot for your effort to plan out the itineraries.

    • November 18, 2015 at 7:59 AM

Tks for visit. The Hotel was booked by Xiao Cun during our last trip as per the itinerary. We Jz told him our budget n what kind of Hotel we looking for. As same as the places u wish to go. He can tailor made for u.

The benefit of engage him is, he will complete the itinerary as promised, no extra charge, no appointed shopping place. Is really pure travel. He will avoid crowd, traffic jam n etc.
The fees he charge is include everything, eg toll fee, petrol, his food n lodging.
We are invited him for lunch. Dinner was in night market.
Have a great holiday in Taiwan. Cheers.
