Bottle Tree

This is what a bottle tree looks like.

The specific name is Adansonia Gregorii after an Australian explorer Augustus Gregory and originated from Western Australia. Its commonly known as Boab tree in Australia.

Bottle Tree is a medium sized tree ranging in height from 5 to 15 meters, with a broad bottle-shaped trunk @ bottle tree, as large as over 5 metres.

Other common names, including:

The plant has many uses, most parts are edible. Australians aborigines obtained water from hollows in the tree and used the white powder that fills the seed pods as food.  The leaves were used medicinally.
